"Melons" on Fisherman's wool

I loooove this colorway. It's "Melons" on Fisherman's wool...dyed with Koolaid.

I love Koolaid. I hate to drink it, but it makes purty yarn!

Free zoo = insanity!

Photobucket

Our zoo offered a free admission today, so being the thrifty folks we are, we decided to take advantage of the savings and spend the day there.

We lasted until lunchtime. The line to the entrance started on the interstate. We found a decent parking spot, and got in right away, but it was nuts!! By the time we got to the aquarium, we could hardly push the stroller, and I was feeling like fainting. It was hot, humid, sweaty, and I just didn't even care about seeing anything. And the aquarium's my favorite!

We finally just gave up, ate the lunch we brought along, and went home. We'll go back when it's not so packed. My daughter, Claudia, though, was heartbroken that we didn't see the Desert Dome, but I promised her that some time (hopefully soon!) I would take her by herself and we would go there first.

And I would watch HSM 3 with her. =)

Yay, park!

I normally don't like going to the park.

It's usually hot, sand gets in my shoes, I get a lot of "Mommy, swing me!". It's a pain hauling snacks, and drinks and sunscreen.

But today was fun! Kayla had a friend over, and after we picked her up, we went to the park with friends. They all played together, when it was time to eat, they didn't make a huge mess, everyone left me alone to chat with some other moms. The weather was perfect, not too hot, no humidity, nice breeze.

Maybe the park's not so bad.

Hawkeye/Steeler longies

I'm doing a trade on Diaperpin.com, and I'm making these longies for the other mom. I love them! I may have to make some for Khloe. They are Coal WOTA with Sunshine Yellow dyed (by me) on Lion wool. I can't wait to see the finished product! This is just one leg, but I'm zooming along on these. I hope to have them done in another couple days.

GRRR! Another blurry pic, oops!

OK, so I haven't really tried much.

I haven't exercised every day, I have still been drinking my regular soda, and I have no motivation. I just can't get into exercise this time of year. You'd think the sun and nice days would have me wanting to be outside. But when I have to take my 10 month old, it's just work. I would love to take a 30 minute walk every day, but I don't want to have to match my pace to my stroller, yk? Or have to carry her the last 10 minutes because she doesn't like the stroller. Or have to take that walk at awkward times of day *like rush hour* because there's no other time that someone can watch her.

And the thought of going to a stuffy, hot, humid gym to workout right now makes me just want to go curl up on the couch and read all day.

This is a problem. I think I need to go read about it.

Kayla's Purse...

A while ago I made a purse for my oldest daughter, and my younger daughter wanted one, too, so here they both are: enjoy!

I've decided I really hate working with stiff interfacing, but it makes for a nice tote!

Off and not running.

Well, day one of the great weight release was kind of a dud. My exercise consisted of driving K around in her stroller about 5 times around the concession stand at the ball park to get her to sleep. I did well on my snacking, though. And I only drank diet coke and no popcorn at the movies.

Maybe today will be a better day. I plan on going for a walk later, and after the garage sale we're planning, I will use the money for a smaller stroller so I can go for more walks. I will try to work the gym in more when softball is over. We still have a couple tournaments, but the regular season is over.

I'm hoping this will be a chance for me to save a little money, too. I hope that I can save money on not getting snacks and drinks everytime we go out. I have a great water bottle for my iced tea, and I plan on keeping healthier snacks in the van so I'm not tempted quite so often.

And I can't eat while I knit and crochet, so I'm hoping I can get myself immersed in some can't-put-down type projects soon! I have a couple trades I'm working on, so hopefully that will keep me busy.
