My own DIY Bullet Journal

So, I have decided to try out a bullet journal, instead of a planner, because I am putting more effort into my business, and I find that I get confused going between my Mead planner and the family calendar.   Plus, I like the idea of being able to adjust the pages, but still like them being all together without it being a three ring binder.  Binders are bulkier, and spirals (like the planner I usually use) seem to get bent out of shape, and are not very easy to rearrange.

This bullet journal is one I found on Pinterest, and I love the look of the pages!  I couldn't find the original poster of the journal, though, so if anyone knows, please let me know so I can furnish the link.

Of course, I couldn't find a decent journal with a grid page that didn't cost more than I was willing to pay (which is not very much).  I did find a composition notebook with grid pages, but the lines were so dark, it was difficult to read.

My fallback is this handy dandy composition book.  They are everywhere, and after the school shopping season is over, you can get them on clearance many times for fifty cents or even less.  I remember one year, we found them for ten cents each.

Next, I stocked up on washi tape.  This stuff is so fun!  You can use it on a ton of projects, but I have been using it for my bullet journal as decoration/separation of the different areas on the pages.  I also like to use it as an edge for my monthly calendar spread, so I can find that page quickly.

Finally, I found some great videos on YouTube, and some photos and samples on Instagram and Pinterest of how others do their journals.  I needed some guidance, but I love being able to do whatever I want, and use my planner in a way that works for only me.  I am unique after all, so my planner should be, as well!

I hope that working on this and being a little more disciplined will help me to stay on task, and keep my business running more smoothly.

Next, I need to work on the outside...time to break out the scrapbook paper and Mod Podge!!

Tuesday, Newsday!

I have been adding new listings weekly, and will be introducing new items, hopefully as often!

Here is a new item to the Gillyweeds lineup, Infinity Scarves!

So incredibly easy to wear and so many colors to play with!

You can find them in the shop...www.gillyweeds.etsy.com

And, here is my beautiful daughter as a model!  I just had to throw this one in here...she gets her looks from her mama!

So excited to offer a new venue for shopping at Gillyweeds!

I have been working this week on getting listings up on Storenvy.com, a new (to me) site that is very similar to Etsy.  I will continue through the next week adding listings as needed, until I have it all up and running.

While I am transferring items over, I have closed the Etsy shop, but will be open at Storenvy by the end of the week!

Here are a few previews of what is to come...
